Sandra was born in the Waikato town of Morrinsville, and grew up on a dairy farm. She has an 18 year old year old daughter who has left home to attend University in Wellington. Sandra lives with her partner Jason, and two cats (unless it’s university holidays!).
Sandra was one of seven students who were selected to attend the very first year of the two year Master of Audiology degree that was established in 1990 at The University of Auckland, within the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences. It was only a few years later that she met Emma, who began the course in 1993, and they would catch up at conferences and seminars from then on.
On graduating Sandra worked in private practices throughout Auckland, and later owned and ran her own clinic.
In 2017 Sandra joined Boutique Audiology to work alongside Emma. She has seen the team grow over these years, first with Helen joining as the office manager (as it turned out, Sandra and Helen had known each other for a number of years, through their daughters), and more recently with Jing expanding our team in her role as our Ear Nurse Specialist.
Sandra has experience with a large range of hearing instrument models, and brands. Over the years she has practiced Sandra has seen many changes in the field of audiology, not so much in the tests we carry out, but more in the improvements which are delivered with each new generation of technology.
Sandra loves catching up with her clients and has a number of very special ones who have followed her when she has moved clinics, and who she has been seeing for well over a decade.
“It is the ongoing relationships and improvements in technology which makes audiology such a rewarding and enjoyable career”
