We keep hearing about how easy the rechargeable hearing aids are to use. And it’s definitely the feedback I am getting from the people I see. Some of these devices come with an extra feature, a power pack that sits under their charging box. If you have a box like this, you can charge your hearing aids without needing access to a power point, as you take the power from the power pack on the box, not from mains power. Today, one of my patients brought in a record of how his power pack worked (I’ve shown this below). He was curious to know what kind of performance he could expect. He found that he was able to charge his hearing aids 18 times, and got a total of 204 hours of use from his hearing instruments, without ever plugging the box in. This is a remarkable performance and means you could have more than two weeks away from a power supply and still get to wear your hearing instruments 10 hours per day!
